Do you have any advice for someone who's considering starting up an ask blog but has little experience drawing ponies and is a bit more cerebral than creative?

Pony blogs can come in any types that can be dreamed up, and they can be made without pictures. That’s the beauty of a base topic without much restrictions. Virtually anything can be done in some way. So don’t think that missing some common tools means you can’t run an ask blog.

Text can be just as effective as drawings. Perhaps something akin to the journal of a wandering traveler, or an insider leaking out (headcanon-made) secrets to readers. A blog doesn’t have to be just engaging through adventure or comedy. It can be engaging through deep thought and enlightenment. Seeing how stuff works, how life is lived, or how the unexplained can be explained is a fascinating venture that I would love to see more of.

Simple role-playing can also option; take the place of a character and build up stories with the help of other readers.

Of course, the use of pictures can be engaging in some cases. And there’s always the opportunity to practice drawing the small horses. Draw facial expressions or leg bends. Study how they move and appear and sketch them out. Over time, it’ll come to you like butter.

So yeah. There’s a whole lot you can do for a pony ask blog. If you have an idea that you want others to see or be a part of, then go ahead and do it. Plan ahead if you need to.

And most importantly, have fun while doing so! :)

Do you like the Rumble/Scootaloo ship, or is it mainly a story telling device for Post Crusade?

OTP! OTP! OTP!

Yes, I actually do like it. So much, I turned it into a story telling device for PC.

PC’s been around longer than Rumble has. When that ship started popping around in my head after “Hurricane Fluttershy,” I had it inserted into PC (which at the time, it was a loosely tied comic strip). The ship stuck once PC started gaining a story element.

FunFact: I often credit myself with being the founder of the ship since I believe that posted the first piece of art about the two. Now, I might be wrong. But I haven’t been disproved just yet.

I doubt this is really tmi, but how long have you been doing art-things? I expect you've been at this for quite a while, and that would really show.

I have been engaged in art since age 7 (9 years ago). Since I couldn’t draw animals or humans at that time, I doodled a lot of landscapes and created my own cities. That traits remains with me in the case of Ponyville Diaries.

I grew out of it eventually, only to have it resurface when I got interested in MLP 2 years ago.

What recent achievement are you most proud of?

Last week in AP Language and Comp, we had a timed free response question essay to do for a test grade.

Historically, I’m a bad writer and essay taker. Also, my handwriting is horrible and we had to write this paper in ink.

The end result was a sloppy, short, and rushed paper that even I couldn’t read back to myself without cringing.

To my surprise, I got an A, commends from my teacher, and a much needed boost in my first quarter average. ^[^

Oh. And there’s also that blog with the 5 angry horses. Believe it or not, I honestly consider my greatest personal achievement to being able to keep Post Crusade going for almost 2 years without abandoning it, which was a common thing for me back in 2012.
