My Biggest Issues With 7.

• SSSSSLLLLLOOOOOOOOWWWWWWW. Sure, it was faster than Vista, but 7 was simply too slow for my aging PC. It booted up at an amazing 4 minutes. -_- Photoshop took a good 3 minutes to start. Even Chrome took about a minute to open.
• RAM. 7 was power hungry. Really power hungry. With SAI as the only program running on the foreground and the system processes, it used up 60% of my total of 2 GB of RAM. I could barely keep SAI open when drawing comics! Streaming was downright impossible. Even using Chrome was a pain in the ass.

8 is the second fastest operating system I’ve ever used (next to Ubuntu Linux 12.04). It boots in 40 seconds. SAI and system processes only take up half the RAM it used to. PS started in a minute. And actually getting stuff done was as simple as that.

To you, it may be a joke. But to me, 8 is best OS I can use to be productive (art and non-art). I can’t go back to 7. Which is why I must fix this driver! D:<

Back in May, I installed the Windows 8 Consumer Preview. After installing that and drivers for my wireless network adapter, I noticed a really annoying bug. After using the internet for a while, the driver crashes and causes a blue screen of death. After a while, I fixed it.

Now, it’s back. And I don’t remember how I fixed it last time.

Welp. There goes my sleeptime. v_v

I’m beginning to wonder how I managed to hit 300 followers (and rising) on this mod-blog when all I do is bitch about my life and be a drama queen.

So yeah. That aside, I’m now in the middle of the biggest art burst I’ve had in months.

• Finally updating PC. And a really big update is coming soon, though it might take a while.
• Gonna restart updating Diaries. I lost the save file for one in a power surge earlier today, but that’s not stopping me!
• Did a NSFW image earlier in the week, and more’s in the works. Yes, you don’t like it when I work on that shit and not on the blogs, which is why I didn’t tell you about it until now. :3

It might. It’ll definitely run at a much higher temp without the fan, and I don’t know if Sai uses the GPU. If it does, then there’s a significant chance that the GPU will overheat and automatically shut the whole computer down.

It’s possible, but that depends on how good your GPU is. Do you have a crappy or a badass GPU?

It’s an Nvidia GeForce 8400 GS from around 2008. Not really a gaming model, but it got the job done and is way better than the stock 7300 the computer originally came with. Compared to the models of today, it’s nothing.

(As of now, the fan is still off, even after restarting. I might just turn it off and wait a while.)

I’m starting up my desktop to see if I slowly work on a drawing (while sick. I am a fucking genius). But the annoying loud buzzing noise from my failing graphics card is missing. But everything’s booting up normally.

I’m guessing that the fan is getting ready to give up. It’s already been a good ten minutes, and I keep smacking the case to jumpstart it, but nothing.

Can a computer’s GPU overheat when the cooling fan is off and the computer is idle? How about when working in SAI?
