We catch up to the current day in PC in only 3 months.

Damn son, and I thought 2015-2016 would be a long ways away .2.

This is gonna stay here so I don’t clutter the main blog. I’ll also be adding the link to this plus an abridged version to the FAQ.

Q: The Crusaders got their cutie marks in canon as of Season 5. Are you going to change them?

A: I have no way to change the cutie marks in PC because of two big reasons.

1. Post Crusade is an AU.
Everything you see here is a result of me writing the story with Season 2 as my starting point. Everything I wrote for the Crusaders, how they got their talents and marks and how they came to become what they are in the blog is based on a timeline I have made myself. Other elements (Twilight’s princesshood, Babs Seed, the EqG portal, etc)  have been picked and chosen as FiM ran on, but only elements that don’t contradict my core CMC timeline made it through.

Essentially, this means Crusaders didn’t earn their marks at the same time, they earned marks based on their postulated talents in “Show Stoppers,” and they never made friends with Diamond Tiara, which ruled out them ever getting the marks they got in canon.

2. Even if I could rewrite the timeline so they have their canon marks, that would be a ridiculous and unnecessary retcon.
I’ll admit I’ve wiped and rewrote many portions of the timeline well after the fact. But changing their cutie marks is 100% out of the question because of how prominent they are in the current story. They’re extremely important and I can’t just get rid of them like that. Not to mention that changing them mid-story is a mind-boggling terrible idea.

I understand it’s now really strange to follow a story that directly contradicts canon. Unfortunately, I can’t really do much about except but to keep telling the story I’ve been meaning to tell from the start.

((Bonus reason: the canon mark designs are shit; mine are better :UUUU))

I faintly remember a GTA IV icon on your desktop

Okay full disclosure I’m not completely a video game virgin. I just haven’t gotten into a lot of the stuff that people and my friends talk about all the time, which becomes horribly frustrating when everyone is talking about a game because I start feeling like an idiot or some inanimate wall.

Also I’ve never been heavily exposed to games as a kid. I was also taught that games waste time and are unhealthy and blah blah blah and I shouldn’t care for them and I guess I never really let that go.  So I lack that nostalgia element that’s apparently important.

Bottom line is, I never fully appreciated games and it’s really hard to get into them now that I’m closing in on 19 years. Aside for a few exceptions (Super Mario Galaxy, GTA IV, Portal 2, to be exact), it can be said that I’ve never played a game like one should.
