Three years ago,
it was that the beautiful @carrotquill had roped me into making a Sweetie Belle ask blog and that I had, out of spite, created the one blog that would require the minimal amount of effort possible: an ask blog that only updates once a year.
Turns out that even the minimal amount of effort is quite a bit of effort.
But effort is not the reason that I decided to end Yours Yearly Sweetie Belle today.
The reason is, as dumb as it sounds, that things change. I’m not the person I was three years ago, and you are not the person you were three years ago. I still live ponies to death, but the concept of a foal sitting in front of a stationary camera and posting her antics only once a year only gets you so far.
Today is not an end, it is a beginning.
With me having a job now, I have less time than I used to have. But with me having a job now, I also have more persistence than I used to have.
Thus, my new year’s resolution is to diligently work towards getting a new ask/story blog on the road, with all the work that is necessary to adapt to the new canon that the latest seasons brought regarding the CMC.
I want to finally start Still Crusading.
It is probably a dumb idea to start a story blog if you have never managed to create more than eighteen updates per year in your life, but it is a dumb idea that can serve as a beacon. We will see where this beacon will lead and I sincerely hope that all of you will help me stay on my way towards it.
I am forever grateful to the people who made Yearly Sweetie possible and believed in it to the end. Only a few of these beautiful souls are:
@chaotic-conundrums, my collaborator of last year and, coincidentally, boyfriend;
@post-cactus, my collaborator of always and, coincidentally, a plant;
literally every member of Cacti’s Love Shack, @autumnbramble, @tempusfidgets, @poorlydrawnpony, @nickname-livestream, @samrosemodblog, etc., y'all are the best friends I could and couldn’t ask for;
@barontristan, @conspicuouslad, @sixthousandbees, @rainbow-gale-comics, @youobviouslyloveoctavia, and several more people simply for liking what I do, and showing that;
my senpai forever @finalskies for making me a gift I didn’t deserve and inspiring me more than I could imagine;
all the members of @sweetiebellesbandb - this whole group blog idea didn’t work out, but it was a fun time and we had one heck of a Christmas;
and literally anyone who ever sent an ask to this silly blog, seriously, I’m crying a tiny bit and I’m on mobile and I would look y'all up if I could but if you have the tiniest thought of thinking that you contributed to this, then you have my thanks as well.
And with that, the post is going on far longer than I wanted and it’s already well past half past three a.m., I wish all of you an absolutely stellar 2017. Stay as great as you are and become even greater if you want to.
