O_O

I’m starting up my desktop to see if I slowly work on a drawing (while sick. I am a fucking genius). But the annoying loud buzzing noise from my failing graphics card is missing. But everything’s booting up normally.

I’m guessing that the fan is getting ready to give up. It’s already been a good ten minutes, and I keep smacking the case to jumpstart it, but nothing.

Can a computer’s GPU overheat when the cooling fan is off and the computer is idle? How about when working in SAI?

  1. nightshade86 answered: it can over heat yes it happened to my laptop
  2. asymmetricsolutions answered: It’s possible, but that depends on how good your GPU is. Do you have a crappy or a badass GPU?
  3. broken-pen answered: What pastrycakes said. If you draw, you might want to hit ctrl+s more often than usually.
  4. daddragon said: It might. It’ll definitely run at a much higher temp without the fan, and I don’t know if Sai uses the GPU. If it does, then there’s a significant chance that the GPU will overheat and automatically shut the whole computer down.
