The more I reread Post Crusade, the less sense it makes.
This can explained by my general sloppiness and the three times PC has had a partial reboot/revision.
The first revision took place during the first Scootaloo and Rainbow Dash arc in the beginning of Summer 2012. During this era, the comics were small comic strips with little storyline other than “this happened”. All of them are numbered like a comic strip (PC 1-20s)
The second one was after the hospital story in August. Here, I decided to give PC a more visible story. However, my sloppiness and subpar organization took it’s toll. A key characteristic of this era is the rushed feel and sudden disappearance of the numbers system (which made it even more unorganized)
The third one is the current one and it started with Dinky being at home. I rewrote the story from the ground up and made it more stable, yet flexible if needed. All of these are organized into large “stories” and are divided into “chapters”.
This is why it’s so jumpy and incoherent at times. I don't recommend reading everything from the start unless you want to try to build an idea of what’s happening, or are a curious explorer. It’s more likely that it’ll become more confusing.
Technically, anything before the third revision isn’t part of the canon unless it was directly or indirectly adressed or referenced in a Rev 3 chapter. Current canon that is taken from the legacy story includes:
- The PC5’s personalities (SB’s nihilism and Sc’s depression most noticeably)
- Current ships/love dramas
- Scootaloo having RD and Pinkie as co-guardians
- The cutie mark stories.
- The Hospital story, and the Christmas story
Anything other borrowed canon and facts that people are wondering about should be revealed as Rev 3 progresses. Unless people desire a quick rundown right now. Do they?
