The short answer: Recognition and advertising.
The longer answer:
My DA used to be “dtcx97” but since that name was beginning to become more synonymous with NSFW, I figured that I’d take advantage of the premium membership and change it. PC is my most popular work, so even though it is destined to end, I chose to tie my DA to it. I kinda want to change it to either “postcactus” or “razethisbarn” to tie it to my own name or my art blog because they’re more permanent.
The mod-blog is named “postcrusade-mod” not because I want to tie my persona to Post Crusade. It was actually for advertising.
Back in the days of yore, PC was stagnating at around 300 followers. Of course, that wasn’t enough and I wanted to find a new way of attracting people other than DeviantArt.
A reminder that PC is my secondary blog, and this blog is my primary. Back then, it was “dtcx97.”
To spread the word, I changed the primary blog to “postcrusade” and added a redirect to it so it’ll lead to PC. Then I started following a ton of blogs under the belief that a name like that can attract potential followers. If they were famous, I’d make the common “FAMOUS PERSON FOLLOWED ME” post and piggyback on others’ followers.
This led to promotions from Sweetie Bot, Scootabot, Meanie Belle, and Pregnant Scootaloo. And the rest is history. o_o
Dishonest and scheming? Yes. I swear on my heart, I don’t follow this policy anymore. Really, this blog should change it’s name to “post-cactus” because I don’t need the primary advertising anymore.
