I heard it explained this way once: Good deeds, while good, cannot compensate for bad deeds that are still a problem. The only way to account for something bad that is happening is to stop it, not to try and drown it out with good deeds. This is because suffering and happiness are not drawn from the same pool, and so long as you're generating a lot of suffering, you won't be able to out-happy the suffering.

And on an unrelated and less dramatic topic, re: you wanting to get into computer science: Computing is a big field with a lot of career options, most of which are in huge demand these days. Had you wanted to be a website/software developer? A more low-level computer programmer? Something more hardware-related, perhaps? Or maybe you wanted something in IT or systems management? As a junior developer myself, I could provide some advice if you want it.

Website development and systems management are some things I want to get into.

Do you follow a particular schedule when updating your blogs?

Nope! ;3;

I’d like to, though. But school and life are too unpredictable for me to get one going.

Oh, goodness. How bad is your right wrist now? I guess it's not really anything debilitating, given all you've drawn for us (unless you're left-handed), but I'm still curious as to how that injury has affected you.

It’s not as bad as it sounds. I can still move it around freely as I please. It’s just that there’s this strange numb area where I don’t feel anything. The hand doesn’t get sore, either, so I can draw/type/write for a really long time and not have a need to take a break.

Still, I can imagine that I won’t be able to feel any CPS coming in if it were to.

TL;DR I dare you to pinch me there.

M: Random fact about me. [x5 COMBO]

  1. I once wrote an extremely corny romance short story in 3rd grade and I was invited to attend a young author’s conference because of it.
  2. I’ve had a painting of mine hung in a museum for a week in 4th grade. But I wasn’t able to attend the ceremony for the gallery opening. :c
  3. I once fell off a slide and broken both my arms with the right arm getting the most damage. As a result, I have nerve damage in my right wrist.
  4. I can’t roll R’s.
  5. I sometimes just lie in bed and imagine all my stories playing out like movies being shown in a film festival with all the main characters sitting in the audience wondering how the hell did the creators film this?

Whats your favorite album from Arcade Fire?

Reflektor. o2o

Funeral is a definite close second, though.

Well, I already know where you're from, but I would certainly like to hear about where you'd like to live.

I’d like to either live in the city, or in a calm suburban town that’s close to a large-ish city.

I like cities. <:

A: Age: 16

L: Favourite band/singer: This changes all the damn time. I say it’s a tie between Radiohead and Arcade Fire

M: Random fact about me: I hate milk with a burning passion. But I absolutely love cheese. CHEESE.

Z: Ever self-harmed?: Uh not really. I have once pulled enough hair from my scalp to cause bleeding and scabbing, but I don’t think that counts.

Do you live anywhere near Washington Rock Road? If you don't want to post this, could you just make a text post that says yes or no?

Asked by Anonymous

What an odd question. ._.

I guess you can say I live close to it.

Okay, here's a different topic. What do you want to be when you grow up? Despite your obvious artistic ability, somehow I feel like you want to do something different for a career.

Asked by Anonymous

You are correct.

I want to get into computer engineering and science.

Just what exactly distinguishes a man from a woman (short of the person outright stating his/her gender) on Tumblr? Is it chattiness? Because you, Mr. Cactus, are not all that talkative.

Asked by Anonymous

I’m not sure. Tumblr can be very sensitive when it comes to gender identity, so I’m not gonna get all “logical” about it.

However…

I personally use a combination of judging their art style and blog style, mod-blog stalking to see their text-post writing style, interests, opinions, etc, and pure guessing.

It has worked for me… 40% of the time. And it’s a weird gender-biased habit of mine. I CAN’T HELP IT, I’M SORRY.
